Frequently asked questions

Is this the same as gross internal area?

Close - GIA measures to the inner face of external walls including hallways and stairwells, so add those as rooms too. RoomPlot calculates a wall-centreline GIA automatically from a scan.

How accurate do room measurements need to be?

For listings, to the nearest 5 cm is fine. Measure at floor level along the skirting, and always the longest wall-to-wall span.
