File viewers
USDZ Viewer
Drop in a USDZ file to see what is inside - meshes, materials and textures - and launch it straight into AR Quick Look on an iPhone or iPad.
How it works
USDZ is Apple's AR format: a package (a zip) holding a USD scene plus its textures. This viewer opens the package in your browser, lists every part with its size, previews the embedded textures, and - on an iPhone or iPad - hands the file to AR Quick Look so you can place the model in the room around you. The file is read locally and never uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
How do I open a USDZ file?
Drag the .usdz onto this page. On an iPhone or iPad the "View in AR" button opens it in AR Quick Look; on any device the inspector lists the meshes, materials and textures inside and previews the images.
Can I see the 3D model on a desktop computer?
A full turntable render of USDZ needs Apple's AR Quick Look (iPhone or iPad) or macOS Quick Look. On desktop this tool shows the model's contents and texture previews - open the file on an Apple device, or in RoomPlot, to walk around it in 3D.
